The Stress Test: 7 Questions to Answer If You’re Stressed

ree

Stress is sneaky. Sometimes it slams into you like a wave, but most of the time it shows up quietly—through disrupted sleep, snapping at people you love, forgetting things, eating too much or too little, or feeling constantly “on edge.”This quick 7-question test will help you check in with yourself and see where your stress levels truly sit.

Instructions: For each question, mark the score that best fits your current experience.

  • Never – 0 points

  • Sometimes – 1 point

  • Often – 2 points

  • Always – 3 points

❓ Question 1: How often do you feel overwhelmed by your daily tasks?

Stress often makes everyday responsibilities feel like mountains rather than hills. Feeling constantly overloaded is one of the strongest early signs of chronic stress.

❓ Question 2: Do you struggle to fall asleep, stay asleep, or wake up rested?

Stress activates your nervous system, keeping your body in alert mode. If your sleep is inconsistent or you wake up exhausted, stress could be the culprit.

❓ Question 3: Have you noticed changes in your appetite or eating habits?

This includes overeating, undereating, binge cravings, skipping meals, or feeling nauseous due to tension. Appetite swings are a common stress symptom.

❓ Question 4: Are you feeling more irritable, emotional, or easily triggered?

When stress piles up, the part of your brain that manages emotional regulation becomes overloaded. If you’re snapping at people or crying more easily, take note.

❓ Question 5: How often do you feel mentally foggy, forgetful, or unable to focus?

Cognitive overload affects memory and concentration. A stressed brain struggles to stay sharp.

❓ Question 6: Do you experience physical symptoms such as headaches, muscle tension, stomach issues, or racing heart?

Stress doesn’t just live in the mind—the body carries it too.

❓ Question 7: Have you withdrawn socially or lost interest in activities you normally enjoy?

Pulling away from friends, hobbies, or passions is a common sign that stress is draining your emotional energy.
